AFG to provide PM/CM Services for the NYCHHC OTxHU Program

AFG is working alongside AECOM to provide Project Management and Control Services for the New York City Health and Hospital Corporation (NYCHHC) on their Outposted Therapeutic Housing Units Program (OTxHU). The OTxHU program is based out of NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue and NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull.

This program will improve access to care for incarcerated individuals with complex medical, mental health, and substance use needs by constructing approximately 250 Outposted Therapeutic Housing Unit beds split between Bellevue and Woodhull hospitals. These areas will have additional security requirements and will be operated separately from public areas of the hospital.

Additional stakeholders for this project include the New York Correctional Health Services (CHS), who will be providing additional security measures and working alongside NYCHCC for the long-term success of the program. Overall, this program is intended to significantly improve access to care and a more normalized rehabilitation environment for incarcerated patients with more complex medical, mental health, and substance use needs.

AFG will be providing Project Management and Control Services throughout this 5-year program, including project management, engineering, and inspection services. Working as a subcontractor to AECOM and alongside General Contractor North Star, AFG is currently providing inspections and project documentation of the demolition of the second floor at Bellevue Hospital. The project actively involves asbestos abatement including flooring, doors, ceiling, and ductwork. Demolition and removal will include mechanical ductwork, electrical, plumbing, and telecom.
