AFG VP, Sally Clark Highlights the Power of Cohorts at Industry Fellows Forum

On October 2, AFG Vice President Sally Clark, CPSM, shared her insights as a panelist at the SMPS Fellows Forum, discussing the value of cohort programs.

Clark has participated in and helped build professional cohorts for nearly a decade, underscoring a key truth: “By bringing powerful professionals together, you can accelerate the type of growth and learning that no individual can create alone.”

The Fellows Forum, which kicks off SMPS’s new cohort program launching in January 2025, provided a virtual platform for Clark and others to reflect on how these collaborative groups help professionals share experiences, brainstorm ideas, and tackle challenges. Henna Pryor, PCC, an executive coach and cohort guide at Chief — an internationally acclaimed leadership cohort –also spoke on the role of peer coaching in fostering ongoing professional development.

Clark has been an integral leadership team member facilitating the AFG Mentoring Program. This internal training initiative connects emerging leaders with seasoned mentors in a cohort setting, ensuring that the next generation of professionals is prepared to excel.

The Mentoring Program is a component of AFG University, a comprehensive 5-Level Training Program, with over 100+ project videos, and toolbox talks, that equips team members for success. Graduates earn industry-recognized certifications, unlocking new growth opportunities.
