GSA Awards AFG USDA Rural Development CM Contract in St Louis, Missouri

AFG has recently been awarded a General Services Administration Region 6 contract in support of the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development Offices in St Louis, Missouri. In June of 2020, GSA Region 6 signed a 20 year lease on approximately 163K square feet of space across six floors of the Metropolitan Square building in St. Louis. This 42-story tall granite and marble skyscraper was originally constructed in 1989 to house corporate and federal office tenants. At 593 feet high, Metropolitan Square is the tallest building in St. Louis, holding more than 1.5M square feet of office space total.

The USDA Rural Development Office, previously located in Northern St Louis, will be relocating approximately 1,000 employees to the newly leased 163K SF space. AFG will be providing comprehensive Construction Management services for the new construction and build-out of floors 1, 8, 9, 11, 12, 15 and 21 of the existing building. The scope for this project includes construction of partition walls, MEP, and all finishes for offices, conference rooms, break out spaces, copy rooms, mail rooms, storage, secure file storage, IT and telecom rooms, training rooms, wellness rooms, and more. Due to the agency requirements for security needs, AFG will be supporting construction to enhance level of security.

Design work for this $6.5M project has already begun. Construction is expected to begin as early as June of 2021, and AFG will continue supporting the build-out and renovation through to completion in January of 2022.
