AFG was comissioned by Gibane Building Group to provide various construction and program management services such as scheduling, constructability review, and permit expediting and project superintendence.

The new science facility project consists of a new 69,000 square foot research and teaching facility. It will provide state-of-the-art laboratories, strengths in plant science. In conjunction with the existing Gillet Hall the new members of the campus and surrounding communities and showcase the important work being done on campus. Where teaching and research wings spaces surrounded by an open stair linking all levels. Sustainable design is integrated into the entire facility, throughout the
educational and research building systems. The courtyard features a constructed wetland that treats both storm-water runoff and greywater from the building for reuse within the building while offering numerous opportunities for educational
outreach. Beyond the courtyard wetland the building features solar hot water heating, optimization of natural light, and high-performance energy systems.

The project was designed and constructed to achieve a U.S. Green Building Council construction document review, site logistics management, CPM scheduling, project bid packages, cost estimate review,
value engineering, construction surveillance, construction management, change order support, LEED management, submittals, safety program oversight, commissioning coordination and project closeout.

Work was done to insure that the day-to-day operations of the campus were not disrupted. A typical day, approximately 5000 students, faculty
and visitors would be utilizing the campus. It was AFG’s responsibility to insure their safety throughout the entire construction process.
