Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Logistics Construction Support Contract (LCSC)
Federal & Defense Agencies
AFG is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Logistics Construction Support Contract (LCSC) Direct Housing Mission, as a subcontractor to Dewberry.
After Hurricane Ida, a Category 4 storm, made landfall in late August 2021, thousands of families were displaced due to their homes being damaged or destroyed. A Major Disaster Declaration for Louisiana was issued that authorized assistance for twenty-five parishes. The Direct Housing Mission includes the use of RV’s and Mobile Homes, installation of units in existing commercial RV/Mobile Housing Unit (MHU) parks, private sites, construction of new Group Sites and Emergency Group Sites to place RV/MHUs, and expansion of existing commercial parks.
AFG’s team of FEMA badged inspectors were deployed to 10 parishes in Louisiana as surveillance support. The teams work in a Joint Field Office in conjunction with additional subcontractors on separate tasks such as administrative support, data input, data analysis, cost estimation, housing/construction monitoring, design services, project monitoring, quality control, and contract surveillance.
The parishes included in this Direct Housing effort are located in southeast Louisiana. AFG’s inspectors have been deployed to:
- Ascension
- Jefferson
- Lafourche
- Livingston
- Plaquemines
- Charles
- Helena
- James
- John the Baptist
- Tangipahoa
- Terrebonne
- West Baton Rouge
